Our Vacancy

Care Support Worker – Make a Difference Every Day

Are you someone who genuinely cares about others? Do you have a positive attitude, a great sense of humour, and a desire to help people live fulfilling, independent lives?

We're looking for caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in the picturesque market town of Halstead. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in a rewarding role where no two days are the same. Due to the location of the service and the need to support people within the community, your own transport and a full UK driving licence are essential.

The best part? You don't need previous care experience. We're far more interested in finding people with the right values, compassion, and willingness to learn. If you have a positive outlook and enjoy helping others, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Care Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting people to live the lives they choose. This could include:

  • Supporting with daily living activities and personal care where required
  • Encouraging independence and helping people achieve their goals
  • Accompanying individuals to social activities, appointments, and community events
  • Supporting people to develop hobbies, interests, and friendships
  • Helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home environment
  • Building positive relationships with families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
  • Completing records and documentation accurately
  • Working flexibly across a rota that includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-in or waking night shifts where required

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from people who are:

  • Kind, caring, and patient
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Positive, resilient, and able to adapt to different situations
  • Great communicators who enjoy working as part of a team
  • Passionate about supporting others to achieve their potential
  • Respectful of individual differences and choices
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle

Experience Isn't Essential

Whether you're already working in care, looking for a complete career change, or returning to work after a break, we'd love to hear from you. Full training will be provided, and we'll support you every step of the way.

Previous experience in care, support work, customer service, hospitality, retail, or volunteering can be beneficial, but it's your attitude and commitment that matter most.

Why Join Us?

When you join Peabody, you’re joining a team guided by our values:
Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together.
We believe in creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered.

What We Offer

  • 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Two paid volunteering days each year
  • Flexible benefits scheme and discount portal
  • Life assurance at 4x your salary
  • Up to 10% pension contribution
  • Paid training and development opportunities
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Staff recognition schemes

Please Read Before Applying

This is a 24-hour service, and successful applicants will be required to work flexibly across a rota that includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and overnight shifts.
