Our Vacancy

This role is for 30 hours a week and on a fixed-term basis until 28th February 2026.

Your day might begin by working from the Basildon ECC office, providing tailored support to customers in independent accommodation, helping them maintain their tenancies and improve their wellbeing. You'll be supporting people with low, medium, and high support needs, including those with mental health challenges, health-related issues, or those aiming to access employment or training.

As a Support Worker, you’ll act as a secondary worker within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) in ECC Children & Families, offering both planned and crisis support. While employed by Peabody, you’ll work closely day-to-day with the MDT Team Manager at Essex County Council.

You’ll work alongside colleagues and senior managers to ensure our Support Service runs smoothly. You’ll promote a supportive and cooperative environment, listen to customer feedback, and help shape services to better meet their needs.

You’re passionate about supporting others and bring experience, empathy, and a proactive approach. Whether it’s offering pre-tenancy advice, signposting to welfare support, or assisting with navigating challenging situations, you’re ready to empower others to live independently and confidently.

To succeed in this role, you’ll:

  • Have demonstrable experience (professional or voluntary) supporting customers within an Intensive Housing Management service.

  • Have experience supporting customers with mental health needs, other health-related issues, and employment or training pathways.

  • Possess knowledge or understanding of housing-related support needs and welfare benefits.

  • Be confident supporting customers with tenancy responsibilities, including navigating legal or court-related housing issues.

  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.

  • Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Here are just a few of the benefits of working at Peabody:

  • 25 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays

  • Flexible benefits scheme, including options for healthcare, dental care, critical illness cover, vouchers, tech scheme, and a discount portal

  • 4x salary life assurance

  • Competitive salaries benchmarked regularly against current market rates

  • Professional development through access to "paid for" apprenticeship programmes and qualifications

  • Two additional paid volunteering days each year

  • Family-friendly policies

  • Up to 10% pension contribution, matched 1:1
