Payroll Administrator Level 3 ¦ Permanent Contract
Course Duration: 22 months
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship qualification, your salary will increase to the standard rate for this role, which is currently £27,465. Please note that this rate may be subject to an increase by the time you complete your apprenticeship.

Join our busy in-house payroll team as a Payroll Administrator Apprentice and gain hands-on experience, expert support, and a nationally recognised qualification -all while earning a salary. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s organised, detail-focused, and eager to learn. You’ll play a key role in helping ensure our colleagues are paid accurately and on time each month.
Please note: You’ll be required to work in the Pitsea office 2-3 days a week.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll support the payroll team with processing timesheets, expenses, and monthly pay runs. You’ll learn to use payroll systems, apply statutory regulations, and help resolve queries professionally, all while building hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grades A*–C (9–4)
- Confident with numbers and has great attention to detail
- A confident communicator and team player
- Aware of the importance of confidentiality
- Motivated to build a career in payroll

You’ve lived in the UK, EEA, Switzerland, or Gibraltar for the last 3 years (you’ll need to show proof).
You don’t already have a qualification at the same level or higher in this subject.
