Team Manager (Homeless and Supported Housing Casework)

Location: Colchester,  (7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week)

Interview Dates 30 July 2025

At the heart of our work is a simple belief: everyone deserves the chance to flourish. We provide safe, supportive homes and services that empower people to thrive—because when people feel secure and valued, communities grow stronger.

We’re proud to be an organisation that celebrates diversity, pulls together, and keeps our promises. We listen to our customers and colleagues, act with integrity, and are always open to new ideas that help us do better.

We’re currently looking for a Team Manager to lead our supported housing service just outside Colchester. This scheme supports people who have experienced multiple disadvantages, including homelessness, trauma, substance use, mental ill health, and involvement with the criminal justice system. The service operates 24/7 and includes five additional supported housing units nearby.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and support a dedicated team to deliver compassionate, high-quality services.
  • Ensure the day-to-day running of the service is safe, effective, and continuously improving.
  • Build strong, respectful partnerships with local agencies to enhance support for residents.
  • Help customers move forward into longer-term, sustainable housing.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in housing and a strong understanding of statutory and community services.
  • A background in providing support to people with complex needs and trauma, ideally as a senior support worker or team manager.
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage a team, ensuring high standards of care and support.
  • Confidence in assessing and managing individual needs and risks.
  • A respectful communicator who upholds the dignity and diversity of every individual.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to build professional relationships that benefit the people we support.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Experience of multi-agency working and liaising with statutory organisations.
  • A good working knowledge of welfare benefits.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

If you’re someone who does the right thing, values different perspectives, and is always looking for ways to improve, this could be the perfect role for you.

Additional Information:

  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
  • If you need any reasonable adjustments to take part in the recruitment process, please let us know, we’re here to support you.
  • If you are at risk of redundancy, please indicate this in your application to receive priority consideration.

We also offer:

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Flexible benefits package (healthcare, dental, discounts).
  • 4x Life Assurance.
  • Professional development opportunities (apprenticeships & qualifications).
  • Two additional paid volunteering days.
  • Family-friendly policies & up to 10% pension contribution (matched 1:1).
