People Operations Assistant

Location: Pitsea, Essex 3 days a week.  

 

We’re looking for a People Operations Assistant to be the friendly, knowledgeable first point of contact in our newly formed People Operations team. 

 

This is a fantastic role if you enjoy variety, problem-solving and helping people. You’ll support colleagues across the full employee lifecycle from starters and changes to contracts, to payroll queries, systems updates and general People advice. 

 

You’ll be a key part of keeping our People service running smoothly, accurately and with a real focus on great customer experience.

 

What you’ll do

Your day could include processing contract changes, supporting managers with HR queries, working with payroll to make sure pay-impacting changes are right and keeping our HR systems clean, accurate and up to date. 


You’ll also: 

  • Be the first point of contact for HR queries from across the business
  • Manage HR and payroll administration in our HR system
  • Create contracts, letters and colleague documentation
  • Coach colleagues and managers to self-serve where possible
  • Support compliance processes including DBS
  • Champion data quality, accuracy and great customer service
  • Spot opportunities to improve how we work and help implement them

 

What you’ll bring

You’re a people person who likes to get things done. You’re calm, organised and customer focused. You like working at pace, enjoy problem-solving, and take real pride in getting the details right. You’re comfortable owning tasks from start to finish and juggling multiple priorities in a busy environment.

 

  • Experience in a People/HR administration role
  • Great attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident in using HR systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • A strong understanding of HR processes and confidentiality
  • A helpful, professional and solutions-focused approach
  • Ideally CIPD Level 3 (or working towards), or equivalent experience

You’ll need to be in the office for 3 days per week and the remaining time you’ll be able to work remotely.
