Trade Supervisor – Specialist Works – Lead Our Repairs Teams to Deliver High‑Quality Service

Are you an experienced trades professional with strong leadership skills? As a Trade Supervisor – Specialist Works at Peabody, you’ll support the smooth delivery of our responsive repairs service across a wide geographical area. We’re looking for someone with a solid trade background, strong commercial awareness and the confidence to lead teams while ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This is a role where your technical expertise and people skills will truly make an impact. You’ll oversee operatives, maintain service standards, drive first‑time‑fix performance and ensure customers receive a professional, high‑quality experience every time.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain a strong focus on first‑time fix and effective van stock management
  • Demonstrate high levels of customer service and professionalism when dealing with residents and stakeholders
  • Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to an excellent standard
  • Update PDA devices with schedules, job details and work progress
  • Uphold Peabody’s corporate image and service standards
  • Work with operatives and managers to set targets, KPIs and performance goals
  • Support learning and development needs and promote continuous improvement
  • Ensure proactive and effective delivery of all services
  • Maintain and deliver required documentation accurately and on time
  • Liaise with relevant staff and teams across the organisation
  • Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends when required
  • Adhere to all Peabody/PGM Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and Environmental policies

What you’ll need

  • Asbestos Awareness Training
  • SSSTS or IOSH training
  • Trade City & Guilds / NVQ qualification, or equivalent experience with strong references
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Multi‑trade discipline experience
  • Experience within a domestic maintenance or repairs environment
  • Ability to manage van Impress stock and reduce non‑productive time
  • Strong PDA/handheld device skills including updating job statuses and uploading images
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Basic understanding of Schedule of Rates
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management
  • Knowledge of the London area
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

You will be:

  • Skilled at analysing reports and data to identify performance issues
  • Able to support the Customer Feedback Team with complaints and embed lessons learned
  • Confident ensuring compliance with all business policies and procedures
  • Capable of carrying out desktop post‑inspections of completed works
  • Supportive when providing people‑focused guidance to operatives and planners
  • Able to ensure resources are used efficiently across direct labour and planning teams
  • A strong collaborator with supply‑chain partners
  • Committed to safe working practices and delivering high‑quality repairs
  • Able to maintain professionalism, confidentiality and good judgement
  • A team player with excellent time‑management and prioritisation skills
  • Calm, polite and tactful with residents
  • Strong in both written and verbal communication
  • Detail‑oriented and committed to continuous improvement
  • Flexible with working hours when required
  • Confident using handheld technology and mobile IT systems
